GLASGOW Presbytery is to hold a special service to mark the 450th anniversary of the Scottish Reformation on Sunday.
Members from congregations across the city are being encouraged to gather at the city’s Cathedral on Sunday 20th June at 6.30pm, where Professor Tom Devine will preach the sermon. He is expected to speak about the importance of the Reformation for the development of Scotland.
Before the service a procession including ministers and civic leaders will make their way from St Mungo’s Museum through Cathedral Square and into the sanctuary.
Moderator of Glasgow Presbytery Reverend Neil Galbraith will lead one of the prayers, along with the Scottish Episcopal Church’s Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway Very Reverend Dr Gregor Duncan and Roman Catholic Archbishop Mario Conti.
