DINERS at Italian restaurant Vittoria on the Walk have no excuse for missing the World Cup – thanks to a giant 92-inch screen that has been specially installed to broadcast all the games.
Tony Crolla owner of the Vittoria restaurant on Leith Walk, has brought in the screen – believed to be biggest in Scotland – to allow games to be shown in HD quality ensuring that customers can support their favourite team safe in the knowledge that they will not miss a single piece of the action.
The huge screen will be placed in the restaurant’s party area which can host bookings for small and large groups and can also be booked out for private screenings. This leaves the restaurant area free for those wanting to escape from the World Cup drama and enjoy a relaxing meal.
During matches, a full food and drinks menu will be offered and customers can enjoy some of the delicious and authentic Italian pizza, pastas, salads and more that the restaurant has to offer.
The bar at the restaurant also serves Italy’s number one beer Birra Moretti which means that Italian fans can feel right at home when they cheer their team on.
Tony Crolla says: “The staff at Vittoria are all very excited for the start of the World Cup. It’s a big event which allows people from all over the world to get behind their team and support their country.
“So when we were thinking of how we could celebrate the occasion we decided to show that size really should matter.
“There’ll be few better places to watch the World Cup than here.
“It’s a real shame that Scotland will not be part of this year’s event but we are hoping that Scottish fans will still support other competitors and cheer on their favourite players as they represent their teams.
“Being from Italy, means that myself and most of the staff will be supporting the Italian team – but we will not be promoting this too much in the restaurant as we want Vittoria to be a place where supporters of all nations can come and get involved in the World Cup action.”
