FIND out more about how public relations and, in particular, social media can benefit your business by coming along to the next Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Forum workshop on Tuesday 18 May 2010.
This free practical workshop will provide advice on how to boost your business promotion.
The workshop, organised by the Forum as part of a series providing advice and support to the food and drink industry in these challenging economic circumstances, will begin with an introduction to public relations by Platform PR, addressing the benefits of effective communication for your company.
Social media experts Rene Looper and David Sim of 4TM Services will then provide a guide to relatively new phenomenon of social media.
Explaining in plain English how businesses and organisations can benefit from the opportunities of web 2.0, David and Rene will show how Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and blogging can improve your Google ranking, improve traffic to your web site and ultimately can lead to more sales!
Jock Gibson of Macbeth’s of Forres will offer a case study of their use of social media and the impact this has had on business.
Hazel Gordon, chair of the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Forum, said: “I’d like to extend a warm welcome to everyone involved with the food and drink industry in the Highlands and Islands to join Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Forum members at the meeting on 18 May.
“The combination of Platform PR, 4TM and Macbeth’s offers a great way for companies to find out how to bring about improved promotion of their business – and potentially help to improve sales at the end of the day! There is no charge for attendance at the workshop so make it a date in your diary.”
The event will take place at the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Stadium, East Longman, Inverness IV1 1FF. Coffee and registration will take place from 5.30 to 6pm. Presentations will take place 6pm to 7.30pm.
