THE Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) has appointed Sharita Padaruth as regional manager in Argyll and Dunbartonshire.
In her new role, Sharita Padaruth will support young entrepreneurs aged between 18 – 25 years old who are looking to establish or grow their own businesses. As well as providing advice with business plans, she will guide young entrepreneurs through the start-up process, help them to secure funding and offer aftercare support to ensure their ongoing business success.
Ms Padaruth will divide her time between the Business Gateway office in Lochgilphead and Clydebank and, as part of her joint remit. In addition to supporting young entrepreneurs, she will also be responsible for supporting the dedicated PSYBT volunteer panel members and aftercare advisers throughout Argyll and Dunbartonshire
Originally from Paisley where she lives today, Ms Padaruth has spent the last 15 months working as the Glasgow regional assistant manager for PSYBT. Prior to this she worked for the Department for Work and Pensions, supporting applicants through the benefit claim process.
Welcoming Sharita Padaruth to her new role, PSYBT Argyll regional chair, Murdo MacLeod, said: “Sharita is a welcome addition to the team. With her background and experience, I’m sure she’ll do a truly great job of encouraging and supporting young entrepreneurs across our region.”
To date PSYBT has supported over 11,500 individuals to start almost 10,000 businesses and provided over £34million in funding alongside a whole package of other assistance tailored to the needs of each individual. Last year, PSYBT invested £2million in 681 young people involved in 621 businesses.
