THE line-up for the fourth Glasgow Americana Festival will be unveiled on May 20.
Organiser, Kevin Morris, of The Fallen Angels Club, is finalising the acts who will appear when the Festival is staged in the autumn for the first time, over five days at venues throughout the city.
“I will reveal all on May 20 and I’m sure the line-up will meet with widespread approval,” said Kevin. “A guessing game is already under way about who will be on the bill so I’ll come clean on the 20th of next month – that’s the same day as Tim O’Brien is appearing at St Andrews in the Square.”
Since its launch in 2006, the highly popular festival has been held in May and become a firm favourite on Scotland’s music festival map. This year’s event will go ahead in October for organisational reasons.
“It will be a good time of year for the Festival, a musical boost before we head into the dark days of winter,” said Kevin.
“Reaction to the Glasgow Americana Festivals has been hugely positive and I’m pleased at the interest being shown already.”
Over the past three years, the Glasgow Americana Festival has attracted leading lights from the new country, roots and Americana scene including Mary Gauthier, The Wailin’ Jennys, The Handsome Family, Robbie Fulks, Crooked Still, Jason Ringerberger and Kinky Friedman.
