AWARD-winning Scots entrepreneur, Arti Poddar, 26, is expanding her Nature & Herbs business with the opening of a dedicated Ayurved therapies clinic and herbal shop in Glasgow.
Nature & Herbs’ Glasgow shop, which opened earlier this month in the Kinning Park area, specialises in Patanjali and Divya products and therapies based on the ancient Indian traditions of Ayurved.
Says a spokesperson: “Ms Poddar is a former Scottish winner of the HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards and former winner of the ‘Young Achiever of the Year’ categories in both the UK and Scottish Asian Business awards. She launched Nature & Herbs three years ago establishing the business as the exclusive distributor for Divya and Patanjali products in the UK and Europe.
“Nature & Herbs already supplies shops in London, Leicester, Bolton and Birmingham with a variety of herbal food items, supplements, body care products, and cosmetics.
“The range has been developed in association with the founders of the Patanjali Yog Peeth Trust (PYPT), Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, who are leading authorities on the healing practices of Ayurved and yoga. Last year, Nature & Herb’s website, www.natureandherbs.co.uk received over 13,000 sales enquiries, due to the demand for Patanjali and Divya products.”
Commenting Ms Poddar said: “Ayurved provides healing strategies for the body, mind and spirit. Literally translated, Ayurved means the ‘science of life’ and this influential system of medicine is underpinned by the belief that illness and disease create an imbalance in an individual which can be restored with proper attention to diet and lifestyle.
“At our new clinic we have a full time Ayurved doctor who specialises in providing relief from a wide range of system imbalances. Patients can seek advice on lifestyle, diet and exercise. They can also experience the benefits of traditional Ayurved detoxing, relaxation and massage therapies, and have the convenience of a one stop shop selling a wide range of herbal products and prescriptive remedies for individual conditions.”
Over the next few months, Nature & Herbs will be hosting a variety of health and wellbeing workshops and Ayurved cooking demonstrations. For further information on these events and to reserve your place, please contact Nature & Herbs on t. 0141 420 1192 or
