AN Aberdeen chocolatier has designed an unique gift which would melt any Valentine heart.
Kira Grassick hopes her Secret Chocolate Engagement will prove a huge hit with men hoping to impress their loved ones on February 14.
Kira, who runs Chocolat Passions at Garlogie, near Westhill, hand-makes all her chocolate gifts which are on sale at a number of specialist shops in Aberdeen and farm shops throughout the north east.
The Secret Chocolate Engagement appears to be a delicate three-tiered heart-shaped confection held together with chocolate truffles. But, look closer, and it has a secret compartment in which besotted suitors can conceal their prize gift.
Sitting atop of the heart tier is a delicate box made of chocolate in which can be placed a ring – if the man is brave enough – or other items such as a bracelet, watch, gift voucher or flight tickets.
Kira will adapt each individual order to make the secret chocolate box in proportion to the intended gift, and it can be decorated with a personal message or Valentine verse.
A self-confessed romantic, Kira said: “What could be better than sitting down to a Valentine meal and a glass of bubbly and then your date or partner presents you with an extravagant chocolate display, topped with a box made entirely of chocolate and containing a secret present.
“Each Secret Chocolate Engagement is made to order so the gift box can be any size you like. Who knows what will be inside – a ring perhaps, tickets to the theatre or flights to Paris or somewhere equally romantic?”
Kira, who started her business in 2008, promises the highest level of discretion to keep your surprise a secret. And she is willing to play her part in making Valentine’s Day extra special by delivering gifts to the venue of your choice or direct to your loved one if you are unable to be there on the most romantic day of the year.
