HIGHLANDS and Islands businesses with ambitions for growth are being encouraged to tap into expert advice on how to design and build a world class management team.
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is bringing a series of exciting training opportunities to the area as part of its tie up with renowned American business school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management.
The second of these programmes, ‘Designing, Leading & Building a World Class Management Team’ is a two-day training workshop on 15 and 16 February at the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness.
The inspirational MIT training courses are aimed at entrepreneurs, business managers and their top executives to better design their organisations, transform ambition levels and boost participants – confidence in their ability to make things happen within their business.
The practical workshop will be led by Ken Morse, managing director of the MIT Sloan School’s Entrepreneurship Center and Laura Barker Morse, managing director of Entrepreneurship Ventures Inc.
Alex Paterson, director of Regional Competitiveness at HIE, said: “Through HIE, local companies have been working with MIT now for five years and those which have taken part have reported dramatic changes to the way they work, including attracting new investment into their businesses.
“Our relationship with MIT means that the Highlands and Islands have access to some of the best entrepreneurial training in the world. This is a fantastic opportunity on our doorstep and I would urge businesses to take advantage of this world class opportunity.”
For many business managers, one of the most pressing questions during this economic climate is about developing and implementing an effective leadership style and how to build their teams to achieve a high growth, long term, sustainable company.
This workshop will assist entrepreneurs, Highlands and Islands business managers to better design their organisations, to sharpen their leadership skills and style and form and mature their management teams to operate efficiently within the global competitions.
‘Designing, Leading & Building a World Class Management Team’ is being held at the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness on February 15 and 16.
