Media Release: Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Corporate Team Karting Challenge at Scotkart

THE ever-popular Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Corporate Team Karting Challenge returns to Scotkart on Monday 7 December 2009 and organisers are issuing an invitation for teams to come and show off their racing skills for this excellent cause.

The Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Corporate Team Karting Challenge, now in its 19th year, has raised over £250,000 since its inception in 1991.

As an added incentive for racing fans, the Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Corporate Team Karting Challenge will see the official unveiling of Scotkart’s new bespoke fleet of uniquely-designed racing karts.

Suzie McGuire and George Bowie of Radio Clyde will be some of the first to accelerate away from the start line in a brand new kart to get the Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Corporate Team Karting Challenge underway.

Teams who sign up for the Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Corporate Team Karting Challenge will have the opportunity to try out Scotkart’s new karts which will be used exclusively for race meetings at the Cambuslang track. Racers can be sure that these karts will provide an excellent racing experience, they have been designed by the Scotkart team and Biz Engineering, the UK’s largest manufacturer of race and leisure karts.

The Scotkart team has over 20 years’ of karting experience and found that karts being produced by other manufacturers were not of high enough quality. Working closely with Biz Engineering, the team designed this new fleet of karts to deliver maximum driving enjoyment.

Stewart Matthews, Scotkart director, said: “The Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Corporate Team Karting Challenge is always fast and furious and this year promises to be extra special with the unveiling of our specialist race karts.

“We’re looking forward to seeing how much the racers enjoy the new kart design while raising money for such an important cause. The new karts have been developed by Scotkart, with Biz Engineering, to offer superior handling and performance from a light weight racing chassis.”

Angela Beattie, of Radio Clyde Cash for Kids, said: “The Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Corporate Team Karting Challenge is an adrenaline fuelled competition and an excellent way to show support. We are very grateful to Scotkart for continuing to support Cash for Kids and are hoping to exceed the total raised last year, of over £10,000. Scotkart has been really supportive supplying the entire venue and facilities free of charge.”

The Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Corporate Team Karting Challenge starts at 6.30pm on Monday 7 December at Scotkart Cambuslang.
