ST John’s Shopping Centre has scored a coup for Perth by securing the first local exhibition of caricaturist, Craig Rogalski’s works of famous faces, fresh from their return from their first exhibition at this year’s FRINGE.
The exhibition which will be on display in St John’s Shopping Centre for four weeks will run as part of the shopping centre’s FAME campaign which starts on 19th September.
Perth born and bred, Craig (35) lives in Feus Road and is a self-taught artist whose eye-catching work includes The Proclaimers, Elton John, Michael Jackson and Lily Allen.
Craig commented: “I’ve been doing caricatures all my life but only professionally within the last couple of years.
“My work can look like it’s a manipulated photograph but that’s not the case. My medium is mostly digital, but I always start off with a pencil sketch and then the screen becomes the canvas. I do traditional acrylics as well but I get the best effects digitally, using software which mimics traditional painting.”
