ST Mungo looks set to offer guests at the world-famous Turnberry – A Luxury Collection Resort some ‘divine inspiration’ throughout the Open Championship taking place on the renowned Ailsa Championship Course from 16-19 July.
That’s because St Mungo, the award-winning lager brewed by WEST, Glasgow’s independent brewery, is now available on draught in Turnberry’s main Ailsa Bar and sports bar, ‘Duel in the Sun’, whilst bottles of the beer are available in the clubhouse and in the minibar of each of the five star luxury resort’s 219 bedrooms, lodges and cottages.
WEST MD, Petra Wetzel, said: “Named after Glasgow’s patron saint and fellow brewer, St Mungo is brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot of 1516 (the German Purity Law; the oldest food law in the world which ensures only the finest, purest beer is deemed fit for consumption).
“Not only is it crisp and refreshing, but I’m sure that golfers and other guests will find the cool, pure taste of St Mungo truly inspirational!”
Raphael Marinoni, outlet ,anager at the Turnberry Resort’s sports bar ‘Duel in the Sun’, took just one sip of WEST St Mungo lager and had no hesitation in stocking the lager for the recent grand reopening of the world renowned venue.

St Mungo is a light golden lager that has already won a prestigious DLG (German Agricultural Society) gold medal following its launch last year.
