LEITH Athletic Football Club’s under-11s have secured a new kit sponsor in Eastern Exhibition & Display, in a deal arranged by team coach Ian Hutchison, who just happens to be production manager at Eastern.
Fellow Leith Athletic coach – the former Scotland and Hearts legend, Jimmy Sandison – is delighted with the new kit.
He said: “This sponsorship means that, rather than spending money on new kit, we can put more money into financing attendance at various football tournaments throughout the country.
“As a club, we finance every child in our age group to attend such tournaments, and that is only made possible through sponsors like Eastern. A good percentage of our kids get taken on by the youth initiatives at Hearts, Hibs, Rangers and Celtic – and that’s only made possible through sponsorship.”
Four teams from Leith Athletic under-11s gave their new kit its first outing at the recent Soccer Sevens seven-a-side tournament in Ayr which attracted teams from all over Scotland, England and Ireland.
Janet Lee Adam, director at Eastern Exhibition & Display, said: “Eastern has always taken corporate social responsibility seriously and sought, where possible, to put something back into the local community. That’s why when Ian approached us about sponsoring Leith Athletic’s new kit, we were only too happy to help out.”
