MUSIC festivals or mountain biking?
When it comes to planning summer weekends it’s usually one or the other.
The Outsider Festival on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2009 is set to change all that. Already a festival with more than just music including film screenings, stand up and other events, mountain bikers now have the chance to make the most of their weekend by taking to the trails around Rothiemurchus Estate.
Outrider 4, the headline outdoor activity at the Outsider Festival on Sunday 28 June, is a mountain bike event with a difference. Planted in the heart of a unique summer festival riders can soak up the festival atmosphere – including Saturday night headliner, Sharleen Spiteri – before taking to the saddle.
Riders can then relax and unwind to the tunes of Teenage Fanclub or catch some top comedy with the likes of Fred Macaulay, Shazia Mirza, Miles Jupp, Kevin Bridges and Aaron Counter, film screenings and much more.
Ray McGinley, of Teenage Fanclub, said : “We’re playing The Outsider because it’s like some of the festivals we play in Scandinavia and other parts of Europe where it’s a great place to be anyway and the music is the icing on the cake.”
