LIFESTYLE entrepreneur, Umer Ashraf, is bringing a fresh flavour of fruit to Oban with the launch of Paradise Bay – organic smoothie & juice bar. The launch comes weeks after Umer’s appearance on E4 as the young rising star in Scottish enterprise.
Paradise Bay, located at 9 Staford Street in the heart of Oban, will set the mark for a highly-energised brand catering mainly for the on-the-go market.
Ashraf said: “Paradise Bay is all about serving an outstanding selection of fresh made-to-order drinks and food quickly with upbeat service, great personality and a refreshing snapshot of lime, lemon & orange thrown in for good measure.
“The vibe is exotic Hawaiian and our food offering will reflect that with a wide selection of tasty snacks unavailable elsewhere in the city. At Paradise Bay it’s our policy, from the get go, to grind only triple-certified coffee beans and, wherever possible, our product packaging is fully biodegradable.
“All food and drinks offerings at Paradise Bay will be Halal and our customers can choose from an all day breakfast menu including: organic granola with yoghurt and toasted croissant or bagel with Scottish smoked salmon or scrambled egg; a selection of house specials, including gourmet sandwiches, paninis, wraps and toasties.
“These distinctly Hawaiian-style delicacies can be washed down with a refreshing range of hot and cold beverages which, in addition to all the standard caffeine offerings you might expect, include caramel latte, hazelnut latte and mint chocolate mocha as well as fresh fruit milkshakes, smoothies, juices and ice cream.”
The first Paradise Bay will be launched in April 2009 in Oban and will open seven days a week with plans to open another three by the end of 2010.
This new concept is one of three Umer Ashraf plans to roll out this year under his newly established UA Ventures Group.
