LOCAL firm, James Allan Bakers, has tasted success again at this year’s Scotch Pie World Championships.
The bakery scooped the prestigious award for its new recipe Scotch Pie, which has been flying off the shelves at its nine outlets in the west of Scotland.
This year, the Scotch Pie World Championships attracted more than 70 entries from all across Scotland.
Made from 100 per cent Scotch beef, James Allan Bakers’ new scotch pie, which currently retails at 85 pence, was one of only three to win the accolade of a Silver award, improving on last year’s performance when they won a Bronze award.
While delighted about his firm’s success, James Allan Bakers’ managing director, Mark Bradford, is remaining tight lipped about the secret ingredients that have transformed his Scotch pies in to world championship contenders.
