SCOTLAND’S National Motorsport Centre, Knockhill Racing Circuit near Dunfermline, in Fife announced the opening today (Wednesday 17th) of TEEN DRIVE – a driving course with a difference, aimed directly at young adults.
The first youngster to experience TEEN DRIVE was Lewis Hamilton from Cairneyhill, in Fife, who celebrated his 17th Birthday just a few days ago.
Lewis, who attends St Columbas High School in Dunfermline, is already passionate about his two-wheel hobby of mountain biking and can’t wait to drive a car.
After a TEEN DRIVE experience with Knockhill driving instructor, Max Thompson, including the finale of the course (a passenger trip around the famous circuit), the beaming namesake of the newly-crowned F1 World Champion, said: “I really enjoyed the experience and I wish Knockhill had started running the course a couple of years ago. I reckon hundreds or maybe even thousands of young would-be drivers will love it.”
The popular venue’s PR manager, Ray Smith, said: “TEEN DRIVE, our brand new half day driving experience for the 13-16 plus age group will give young adults their first taste of driving in a safe, controlled environment and will also cover vehicle checking, road safety and have a mixture of fun and practical learning experiences built in.”
