CORNERSTONE, one of Scotland’s leading charities and providers of care, has moved its main office in Aberdeen to custom-fitted premises on the city’s Guild Street.
The charity, which supports people with learning disabilities and other special needs, moved to the 8,800 sq ft premises from its old base on Exchange Street and enlisted the services of Scotland’s leading workplace design experts Space Solutions who helped create a more modern and productive office environment and managed the relocation.
Jodie Dawson, communications manager at Cornerstone, said: “Our lease was about to expire on our previous premises and we felt the time was right to move into new offices with the appointment of our new chief executive, Edel Harris.
“The charity has expanded considerably since it was founded in 1982 and the time was right for a move.
“Space Solutions worked within our budget and did a great job of providing us with designs that fitted with our specific needs. The relocation went very smoothly and, overall, we were very impressed with their initiative and professionalism throughout.”
Cornerstone officially unveiled its new premises at a ceremony on October 30.
Keith McKen, quantity surveyor at Space Solutions, said: “Cornerstone had a very clear objective – to maximise the use of its office space. The previous premises were no longer working for the charity so we helped them identify new premises and made the very best of the space within the budget.”
