ONE of Scotland’s leading corporate wear designers has signed a deal to provide uniforms for the recently-refurbished Queen’s Hotel in Bridge of Allan.
The boutique venue is now operating as Adamo after undergoing a major rebranding exercise.
NKD Clothing designed contemporary and stylish outfits for bar, restaurant and housekeeping staff in muted grey, olive green and brown in-keeping with the colour scheme of the venue.
The Adamo Hotels group recently purchased its second property in Stirling and is developing a third. The uniforms will also be supplied to these venues.
NKD Clothing supplied around 80 uniforms for the hotel’s 25 staff.
Rodney Doig, general manager at Adamo, said: “We have created a boutique hotel with a difference, one that is on a par with any other in the world in a rich Scottish region.
“Our uniforms are vitally important in creating this image.
“I was very impressed with the hands-on approach NKD Clothing offered. They kept us very involved at each stage and even let the staff test-run some of the uniforms. This continual working relationship ensured we got the very best uniforms that really summed up what we are about.”
The hotel’s 15 rooms, as well as its lobby, restaurant, bar and late night venue use a modern yet relaxed theme with chocolate browns and suede and leather materials.
NKD Clothing, the premier supplier of corporate wear to the hospitality industry, supplies to dozens of businesses across the UK including the De Vere and Malmaison hotel groups.
Gill Eastgate, managing director at NKD Clothing, which has nine staff based at its office and warehouse in Edinburgh, said: “We had a very clear vision from the Adamo Hotels management what they wanted to achieve with this refurbishment.
“It is a boutique hotel, with an up-market clientele, looking for something classic and a bit swankier than your ordinary out of town getaway.
“We chose the muted tones as this tied in with the hotel’s colours, as well as the surrounding area. The sleek shirt and tie combos create an effortless cool and the staff seem to love its new look.”
NKD Clothing was established in 2002 and was subject to a management buy-out (MBO) by managing director Gill Eastgate in 2005. Since the MBO, it has doubled its turnover.
