SCOTTISH banker, David Metcalfe, has been appointed head of the Direct Marketing Association UK (DMA).
Metcalfe, head of Wholesale Banking Development at Lloyds TSB Scotland, takes over the role of chair of the DMA’s newly-formed board and advisory council.
He said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed chair of the Direct Marketing Association at a time when the organisation is making strides to grow membership and to provide even further value to the existing members.
“No doubt there are challenges ahead, particularly given the economic outlook, however, I feel very strongly that the Association is well positioned to address them and I am sure this will be a dynamic time for the direct marketing industry.”
A Stirling University graduate, David Metcalfe was Hhad of Corporate and Direct Marketing at Scottish Widows before joining Lloyds TSB Scotland in 2004. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers in Scotland, independent chair of the Edinburgh Jobs Strategy Group and a member of both the Institute of Directors and the Institute of Direct Marketing.
Also elected as DMA deputy chair is Fedelma Good who is head of Marketing Privacy & Suppression Management for Barclays. Jan Morris, chair of the DMA’s Scotland Council and colleague Gillian Lyall have also been elected to serve on the DMA UK board.
