THE open day is a collaboration between Xscape and the Young Scot/Dialogue Youth
units in Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, North Ayrshire and Glasgow
City.
All 310,000 Young Scot cardholders can take advantage of discounts on a wide
range of entertainments including the free-fall Fan-drop, the Robo-coaster, the
vertigo-inducing Aerial Assault Course and Europe’s highest free-standing climbing
wall. Young Scots can also toboggan for free on the only real snow to be found in
Scotland in mid July.
Since it opened in April the Xscape complex has seen large numbers of young people
and families take advantage of its menu of entertainments which span the “thrilling
to the chilling.”
As Michelle Whitelaw, Xscape’s marketing manager, says: “Young people are among our
most important customers. The facilities and opportunities at Xscape are unique and
give local young people the chance to try new activities which may go on to become a
lifetime passion.”
The action starts at 12noon Tuesday 11th July. In addition to the discounted
activities local Young Scot networks will be on site to provide information about
opportunities available in the summer months across the West of Scotland.
Louise MacDonald, deputy chief executive of Young Scot, said: “Young Scot is
delighted to be working with Xscape. We are all about letting young people know
about the opportunities available to them and there is so much under one roof at
Braehead that there’s no time for boredom. It’s the perfect introduction to new
adventures! Alongside the holiday activities available locally -it puts an end to
the summer-time blues.”
