THE partners of thriving mid tier accountants French Duncan have responded to the findings of a recent staff survey which revealed a latent demand for a Human Resources Adviser to help manage and administer their affairs with the appointment of Catherine Horne.
Qualified in personnel management, and with a strong track record in recruitment processing and human resources administration, Ms Horne has already set about establishing best HR practice throughout the firm and streamlined many of its HR processes.
She said: “As the firm has a number of branch offices, a key part of my remit is to establish a uniform approach to HR practice across our office network to ensure, for example, that the same recruitment process applies, and is followed by, both our Glasgow and our Kirkintilloch offices.”
One of her main tasks will be to achieve Investors In People accreditation, something which she plans to secure in the first quarter of 2008. In addition, she is presently launching various flexible benefits packages to help staff strike a better work/life balance. Initiatives already introduced include childcare vouchers and a payroll giving scheme.
As well as assuming overall responsibility for administering the payroll of all 120 French Duncan employees, Ms Horne recently launched an induction programme for new starts.
