W.A. Baxter & Sons (Holdings) Ltd has announced the appointment of Edward Murray as a non-executive director with effect from March 21, 2007.
Mr Murray, a qualified chartered accountant, is an experienced non-executive director and corporate financier. Other non-executive roles include Renova Energy plc, Securities Trust of Scotland plc and Artemis AiM VCT2 plc. He is also financial consultant to Turcan Connell, private client solicitors and asset managers.
Having qualified with Arthur Young, chartered accountants, he joined British Linen Bank in 1982 and was appointed to its Court of Directors in 1990.
Since 2004, he has concentrated on developing a portfolio of non-executive directorships.
Married with three sons, Mr Murray lives in Edinburgh.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr Murray said: “Baxters is a world-class brand with huge potential, so I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the management team and the other non-executive directors there.”
