REPRESNTATIVES of Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games’ bid were in London today (May 9) to officially submit the city’s bid document for the 2014 Games.
Re-enforcing their support of the bid, EventScotland – Scotland’s national agency responsible for attracting, developing and creating major international sporting and cultural events in the country – joined the bid team in the Capital for the official presentation of the documents which they hope will see Glasgow awarded the 2014 Commonwealth Games on November 9 this year.
Speaking from London, Paul Bush, EventScotland’s acting chief operating officer, said: “We fully support the bid submitted by Glasgow today (May 9) to host the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and believe Scotland would provide the perfect stage for the Games. A successful outcome will also add further weight to our aspirations of making Scotland one of the world’s foremost destinations for major events by 2015.”
