THEATRE usage – one key measure of productivity – in NHS Lothian hospitals has
increased by 16 per cent amid ongoing efficiency drives, according to a new report.
The productivity report, to be tabled at NHS Lothian’s board meeting today (May
23rd), also highlights the central role now being played by St John’s in Livingston
in providing complex surgical care as a centre of excellence for head and neck
medicine.
The report details improvements in productivity by consultant surgeons and other
staff involved in performing operations.
The report refers to audits of activity taken in recent months.
