FOR the first time ever, an allocation of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party Passes will be available online in advance of general release.
The Street Party Passes, which sell out every year, will be available to subscribers to the Hogmanay website, www.edinburghshogmanay.com, ten days before they are available through box office outlets on Saturday 6 October.
Registration to the website is free and the offer, which becomes live on Wednesday 26 September, is strictly limited to the ten-day period until Friday 5 October.
By registering to the site, subscribers will not only have exclusive advance access to Edinburgh’s Hogmanay street party passes, but will be kept up to date on all the activities taking place over the four-day festival, be the first to know the band line-up for the Concert in the Gardens and have the opportunity to win exclusive tickets and prizes.
Subscribers will be given a special promotional code when registering with details of how to apply for the street party passes. The passes will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Councillor Steve Cardownie welcomed the initiative by saying: “It’s not easy to regulate the unofficial sale for passes and tickets for something as popular as Edinburgh’s Hogmanay but I want to encourage people to secure their passes or tickets through official channels. Doing so prevents the risk of receiving forged passes or tickets and certainly proves to be far better value for money.”
