DM Hall, leading chartered surveyors, has added a new layer of young talent to its professional team with the successful passage of three practitioners from the Glasgow North office, through the demanding Assessment of Professional Competence.
Michael Macleod and Euan McGonigle, from the firm’s Commercial Department, and Sean Greig, of the Residential Department, submitted critical analyses to a panel of three practitioners, made their own presentations and provided evidence of their continuing professional development. They all passed with flying colours.
Says a spokesperson: “The APC process was established by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2004 to create an international framework to ensure that knowledge and understanding, gained through an approved academic qualification and assessed prior experiential learning, is applied in practice and measured consistently internationally.
“The APC demonstrates that only those with an appropriate high level of technical, commercial and ethical competence become RICS members (MRICS).
“For Michael, Euan and Sean, passing the APC is effectively the final step on their road to becoming fully-qualified surveyors and practising in their own right.”
Graeme Todd, partner in Glasgow North, said: “All three candidates have demonstrated consistent enthusiasm, commitment, dedication and drive since they joined the firm. It is particularly heartening to see the future of the profession progressing into such capable hands.
“While their achievement says a lot about the seriousness with which the profession, and DM Hall in particular, views training and continuing professional development, it is also to the great credit of the candidates that they have seized their opportunity with such flair. We wish them all success in their careers.”
