AROUND 80 people attended last Saturday’s open event at the Seaview Hotel to contribute their views on what a redeveloped John o’Groats might look like.
Inward investment manager with the Caithness Regeneration Partnership, Roy Kirk, said: “It was a great turn-out and there was a good exchange of views and ideas which was really useful for us, so I’d like to thank everyone who made it along.
“Each and every suggestion will now be considered and, following discussions with the Highland Council, we will draw up a master plan for a redeveloped John o’Groats which will then go back to the community for further consultation. I hope this process will lead to a development that will be a real asset for local residents and of significant benefit to the Caithness economy.”
While difficult to predict a precise timeframe, Mr Kirk said he hoped tangible progress could be on the master plan by the summer.
