WEST brewery, bar & restaurant, located at the iconic Templeton Building at Glasgow Green, has today (11.04.08) added to its range of beers with the launch of Helles Light, targeted at patrons in search of a refreshing Munich-style lager beer whilst conscious of their alcohol intake.
German brewery owner, Petra Wetzel, said: “Helles is our signature Munich-style lager beer, comprising carefully selected imported ingredients to create a crisp and clean beer with satisfying malt sweetness, complemented by delicate hop bitterness.
“Helles Light has all the flavour of our original Helles, but with less ABV, which has been reduced from 4.9% to 3.8%, making it particularly suitable for customers looking to monitor closely their alcohol intake.”
Styling itself on the beers of Bavaria, WEST’s products are the only beers in the UK that meet the Reinheitsgebot; German legislation which ensures only the finest, purest beer is deemed fit for consumption.
Said Ms Wetzel: “We produce a full range of beers, exactly as you would find them in the great breweries of Europe, from cool, crisp lagers, through to clean-tasting wheat beers and a full range of unique and seasonal styles. We’re sure that our new Helles Light will be a hit with our expanding customer base this summer.”
WEST brewery, bar & restaurant is open seven days a week, 11am till 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 11am to midnight Friday and Saturday. Brewery tours are available by arrangement.
