THE opening of a new furniture showroom in Glasgow has led to a new firm being inundated with orders from customers eager to commission bespoke but affordable designer furniture, revealing a hitherto untapped market.
When designer, Paul Fennon, couldn’t find any good quality furniture of the right size for his home, he decided to take the matter into his own hands – by forming Wood Made Good.
Earlier this month, he opened a new showroom to display the range of furniture his firm can make to customers’ individual specifications so that no-one need ever encounter the same difficulty he experienced when trying to furnish his own home.
Mr Fennon said: “The response from the public to the opening of our showroom has been instant and far exceeded our best expectations. It seems clear that I’ve not been the only homeowner in Scotland to have grown frustrated by my failure to find suitable quality furniture for my home!
“Within weeks of opening, we’ve been inundated with orders for everything from bespoke wine racks to display cabinets for hi-fi systems, kitchen tables, chairs and four-poster beds. The outstanding response to our launch and the feedback we’ve been getting from customers indicates that we’ve revealed a pent-up demand amongst Scottish homeowners for bespoke but affordable furniture providing a quality alternative to inferior flat pack furnishing and fittings.”
Wood Made Good furniture marries traditional cabinet-making skills with contemporary designs offering top quality at an affordable price. Wood Made Good furniture is handmade in Scotland from sustainable hard and softwoods sourced where possible from Scottish timber mills.
Wood Made Good will design an item for a customer from scratch to create something that’s absolutely unique, make it, and deliver it directly to the customer’s home.
