THE Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow is offering WEST beer on draught for the duration of the Glasgow International Jazz Festival. The move, which marks a major coup for the Glasgow Green brewery, follows WEST’s recent unveiling as the official sponsor of the inaugural Glasgow Fringe Jazz Festival.
Speaking at WEST’s beer hall in the iconic Templeton Building at Glasgow Green, German brewery owner, Petra Wetzel, said” “This is the first time that our beer has been available in the Old Fruitmarket – and the first time that our beer has been available in such a large venue. The fact that the Old Fruitmarket is a 1,600-capacity venue means that more people than ever before will be able to enjoy a pint of our beer whilst enjoying some great jazz!”
WEST Brewery, Bar & Restaurant, the first UK brewery to produce all of its beers in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot, known as the German Purity Law, introduced free Sunday afternoon jazz sessions earlier this year.
WEST produces a full range of beers, from cool, crisp lagers, through to clean-tasting wheat beers and a full range of unique and seasonal styles. Its approach to food reflects its brewing ethos, taking the very best natural ingredients and preparing them purely and simply, incorporating the natural produce of Scotland with an individual perspective on German and European food styles.
The Glasgow International Jazz Festival takes place from Friday 20 June – Sunday 29 June in venues across the city. The Old Fruitmarket in the Merchant City next to the City Halls, forms part of Glasgow’s Centre for Music.
WEST Brewery, Bar & Restaurant is open seven days a week, 11am till 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 11am to midnight Friday and Saturday.
