EDINBURGH ‘institution’, Rick’s, has been voted as one of the top 100 bars in the world, by drinkers.
The subterranean Frederick Street venue, which is also a ten bedroom hotel, came in at number 90 on the list on worldsbestbars.com.
Murray Ward, general manager at Edinburgh’s original cocktail bar, said: “We are absolutely delighted to feature on this list as it is voted for by customers all over the world and is very influential.”

“And although Rick’s has become an institution on the city’s drinking and dining scene we are always looking at ways to keep fresh and modern but keep the classic charm that brings back customers again and again.
“The reviews on the site are great and give us some fantastic feedback to help us continue to evolve.”
One reviewer said the bar continues to get “better and better”, while another begged people to visit stating that “food terrific, drinks utterly faultless and staff the friendliest in town”.
Rick’s, which is the city’s only dedicated rum bar, was joined in the Top 100 by fellow Edinburgh bar Dragonfly at number 93.
