SCOTS wood burning stove specialist, Bonk & Co, has opened a new showroom in Edinburgh.
Established in the Highlands in 1976, Bonk has been trading from Harbour Road in Inverness for the past 15 years.
However, now Alex Dolby – son of Inverness manager, Andrew, and grandson of Bonk founder, William Dolby – has opened a new showroom in the heart of the capital.
Alex secured premises in Abbeyhill Industrial Estate late November and has since worked to create the ideal space to showcase quality stoves and accessories from the UK and Europe’s top manufacturers.
The showroom doors officially opened in April and, since then, Bonk’s striking pink and black livery has captured Edinburgh’s imagination.
Customers from all over the city and surrounding area have visited to enquire about stoves and the feedback, to date, has been very positive indeed.
In Edinburgh, Alex has not only created a purpose-built showroom but has also brought together a new team to help take Bonk forward throughout Scotland.
The Abbey Lane showroom has five live fire displays from top manufacturers Charnwood, Clearview and Harrie Leenders and each features materials from Strathearn Stone and Timber.
Forteviot-based Strathearn also provided a large wooden beam and Black River Slate for the showroom’s inglenook fireplace, which features a working Clearview Vision stove.
Alex commented: “It’s been a case of all hands on deck for the past few months as we completed the showroom and new offices but it has all come together perfectly. We have worked very hard to create the homely feel by using pastel paints and wallpapers.
“Each area has been specifically designed to reflect the style of individual manufacturers, from traditional to the more contemporary styles on the market. It has been hectic but we’re delighted to be getting some very good customer feedback, which really means a lot to us, and we look forward to progressing this exciting new chapter in the history of Bonk & Co.”
