RUGBY great and 2003 Rugby World Cup winner, Mike Catt, will visit Ayr Rugby Club this Thursday 31 March to speak to local businesses before coaching some of the most promising young rugby players from the town’s schools.

The former England back, capped 75 times for his country, will share experiences from his highly successful career with an audience of local business leaders and entrepreneurs.

Mike will reveal how the same motivational techniques used in high-performance sport can be transferred to the world of business.

Rugby stars of the future will have the chance to benefit from Mike’s visit in the afternoon when he will be organising a training session for young players from selected local secondary schools.

Mike’s visit also coincides with the launch of Ayr Community Rugby Trust’s youth programme, which encourages those who wouldn’t normally play rugby to engage with the sport.

Clydesdale Bank is a proud sponsor of Ayr Rugby Club, who were crowned Premier One Champions in 2009, and Mike’s visit forms part of the bank’s commitment to ensuring the club’s on field success continues for years to come.

Clydesdale Bank’s Ayrshire Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) managing partner, Willie Mackie (pictured above), said: “We are looking forward to welcoming a sportsman of Mike’s calibre to Ayr and our members are keen to hear tales from his illustrious career.

“Mike is an inspirational figure, having played at the top of his profession for so long, and will be able pass on a wealth of knowledge to Ayr’s young rugby players.”
