THIS Mother’s Day malarkey is all well and good – but it can get quite costly if she’s expecting something more than a hand-made card – such as being treated to a slap-up meal in the trendy West End with her offspring left footing the bill.

The deal is the brainchild of Wise Monkey manager Graeme Hosie. He said: “For one day only, on Mothering Sunday 3 April, mums can eat for free!
“So long as at least one other family member pays for a meal from our main menu – then mum can tuck into one of our freshly made main course dishes absolutely free of charge.”
Aiming to provide customers with the best value fresh food available anywhere in Glasgow’s West End, The Wise Monkey is a frozen food-free zone (right down to the hand-cut chips).
Using only the finest of fresh ingredients, with all dishes made to order from scratch, mum is sure to approve!
The Wise Monkey is all about the music and the great grub. Mains at The Wise Monkey, from which your mum can pick and choose for free, include: steak and philly cheese open sandwich; Monkey Club toasted triple decker sandwich; beer battered-to-death fish and chips; Aberdeen Angus and Scottish ale pie; hot and spicy chilli-con-carne; lasagne al forno; vegetarian lasagne; chicken and chorizo penne pasta; veggie pasta of the day and a range of gourmet burgers and stone baked pizzas.
Offering great live music five nights a week, fab food and a broad selection of cask ales, premium lagers, malts and wines, The Wise Monkey, where the food rocks and the music’s cookin’, can be found at 508 Great Western Road (underneath Viper) in Glasgow’s West End.
The mum’s eat for free offer is restricted to a maximum of one mum per two kids.
