RAT Race Adventure Sports, organisers of some of the best-loved adventure events in the UK, is the title sponsor of the inaugural Outdoor Pursuits Scotland 2011, organised by The Scotsman.
It is considered the country’s first-ever consumer show devoted to bringing our great outdoors under one roof – being staged at The Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh, from Saturday 2 to Sunday 3 April 2011.
From city to summit, Rat Race Adventure Sports organise a huge range of mass participation endurance adventure events throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK every year.
Some past and present favourites include the legendary Edinburgh Rat Race urban adventure race, The Mighty Deerstalker night run in the Tweed Valley, The Nokia Coast to Coast adventure and Edinburgh’s Men’s Health Survival of the Fittest, a 10k run with urban obstacles.
They also run The Urban Gym in Edinburgh and other cities throughout the UK.
This is an urban work out at street level using the city’s natural and man-made environment to create an invigorating outdoor work out experience.
The Rat Race programme of events is continually growing and anticipation and excitement is growing for a new running and water based event being staged in Glasgow in August. Full details will be announced in April

Rat Race Adventure Sports have their own online adventure clothing and footwear store selling the very best specialist gear and accessories.
They will have a bargain laden store at the show offering off-road running footwear, backpacks, technical apparel and accessories.
Staff will be on hand to talk through forthcoming Rat Race events and will offer both gear and training advice.
With five distinct zones to enjoy, Outdoor Pursuits Scotland 2011 is expected to be a hit with anyone of any age who has an interest in outdoor pursuits and leading a healthy outdoor lifestyle.
This truly action-packed event includes an interactive zone with a full programme of demonstrations, presentations, prize draws and many activities to enjoy over the weekend.
