THE next phase in the life of an historic Inverness building was marked recently when a date stone was unveiled as part of a £4 million re-development.
The ceremony was performed by Inverness Central councillor, Peter Corbett, at Deveron Homes’ Fairfield development close to the city centre.
Fairfields is a luxurious development of six private one and two bedroom apartments in a stately Victorian mansion and offering modern, contemporary living for the 21st century.
Many boast Victorian bay windows, all are superbly appointed and benefit from designated parking.
Prices start at £182,950.
Breathing new life into the building and its surroundings has also involved the creation of a small selection of new-build two bedroom apartments in the garden grounds.
Construction work has been carried out by Deveron Group company Deveron Construction who, together with building a number of Deveron Homes developments, are involved as principal contractor in a variety of commercial and refurbishment projects.
Commenting on the event, Deveron Homes’ sales director, Lynne Holburn, said: “This investiture heralds a new era for the former mansion house and grounds at Fairfields.
“During its long and varied history, the house has been occupied as a private family dwelling, the post office and the headquarters of the Deer Commission.
“Now, it has been given a new lease of life for the 21st century thanks to the completion of these stunning apartments which are sure to appeal to locals and newcomers to the area alike.”
