A SPEED networking event designed to help people access the best possible advice and guidance is hosted by the Perth & Kinross Adult Learning and Community Guidance (ALCG) Group this Monday at the Loch Leven Community campus.
As part of a series of ongoing events hosted by the ALCG, the aim is to bring together different partners from across the public, private and voluntary sectors to find out more about the learning landscape of Perth & Kinross.
They will discover what can be done for clients through the different agencies represented and promote their services to other partners.
The event is designed specifically for those working with the public in learning or support roles.
As confidence and self-esteem develop, learners/ clients begin to look at other opportunities and to consider what else they could achieve.
This may involve them being referred to other learning/ service providers, so partners may find it beneficial to increase their contacts in order to help individuals achieve their future aims.
Sue McLennan, of Skills Development Scotland and chair of the ALCG, explains: “The more we know about other support agencies in the community, the more the learners and clients will benefit in terms of finding direction and moving on.
“Events like this have a track record of forging successful relationships and building on existing ones.”
With a broad range of organisations registered for the morning session, it’s hoped that the event will contribute to helping people make the right connections and support others seeking guidance into learning, training or employment opportunities.
