- BBC Scotland weather reporters, Cat Cubie, Stav Danaos and Chris Blanchett, pull on their trainers in support of Glasgow2014 -
TODAY [Monday 21 February]. BBC Scotland’s new weather team donned their trainers to show their support for Glasgow2014’s ‘Sport Your Trainers’ day on March 14.
Cat Cubie, Stav Danaos and Chris Blanchett swapped their weather charts for a pair of Glasgow2014 trainers to encourage all of Scotland to ‘Sport their Trainers’ next month.
Cat said: “I think Sport Your Trainers day is a great way to encourage the country to get behind the Games. The nation has a fantastic record of supporting Scottish athletes and competitors – no matter the sport – and I have no doubt the country will put on a great show in 2014.
“Stav, Chris and I will be ‘sporting our trainers’ for Scotland’s Games on March 14 and I hope the rest of the country will join us.”
The national ‘Sport Your Trainers’ day will encourage everyone from business leaders, schoolchildren and doctors to politicians, office workers and housewives to ditch their normal footwear and wear their trainers for the day in support of the Commonwealth Games.
‘Sport Your Trainers’ will be held annually on Commonwealth Day for the next three years. Those looking to get involved should visit glasgow2014.com, click the ‘I support Sport Your Trainers’ tab and download their free Glasgow2014 starter pack.
