REVELLERS in search of the best Hogmanay party in Glasgow are being invited to come round to the square, the Merchant Square in Merchant City, the heart of the city’s cultural, fashion and food quarter, for the only hogmanay street party the weather can’t spoil!
The party, which starts at 9pm and lasts through to 1am, features a full roster of entertainment, including music from ceilidh-type band, The Journeymen, and a piper performing on the stroke of midnight.
Jenni Morrison, of Merchant City Properties, said: “Our grand Hogmanay party is growing in popularity each year and, given the arctic conditions,we’re all been experiencing this month, it comes as no surprise that tickets for this year’s party are being snapped up quicker than ever before – by revellers seeking to add some sparkle into Hogmanay under a glittering canopy of stars by bringing the outside in, bidding goodbye to 2010 and welcoming in 2011 at Merchant Square.”
