METROPOLITAN cocktail bar and restaurant in Merchant Square, in the heart of Glasgow’s historic Merchant City, is offering a special dine, drink and dance New Year’s Eve party for friends and family to bring in the bells in a safe, dry, stylish and jubilant atmosphere.
Set to be Glasgow’s most stylish and luxurious New Year’s Eve party, Metropolitan is providing DJs and entertainment in the bar from 9pm till 3am (subject to licence) and live music in the piano lounge from 8pm till 1am.
Metropolitan manager, Darren Scott, said: “With a complementary glass of bubbly on arrival for all restaurant bookings, guests can choose from our bar, courtyard, piano lounge, restaurant or balcony, overlooking the grand hogmanay party in Merchant Square featuring a full roster of entertainment, including music from ceilidh-type band, The Journeymen, and a piper performing on the stroke of midnight.”
Metropolitan is offering two options of a celebratory menu on the night: a three-course menu at £29.95 for tables booked between 5pm-7pm for a two-hour stay, and a four-course menu at £39.95 for tables booked between 8pm-10pm – with the table reserved for the rest of the night.
Tickets for Metropolitan’s New Year’s Eve Party are available for £5 in advance or £10 on the door, free before 11pm.
Located on Candleriggs at the heart of the Merchant City, Glasgow’s cultural, fashion and food quarter, Merchant Square offers an eclectic selection of restaurants and cafes.
Once part of the old Glasgow Fruit Market, Merchant Square is imbued with the history of the area’s dominating Victorian architecture, although today this sense of history blends seamlessly with the distinctly cosmopolitan ambiance that pervades the surrounding cobbled streets that bring the outside in.
