EDINBURGH’S full-service global agency, RAPP and Bluemungus, have been working together over the last few months to deliver a stunning new app for The Co-operative.
The Christmas Cracker app has been released on both iPhone and Android platforms today.
The Co-operative is offering smart phone users the chance to win Take That tickets with a new virtual Christmas cracker mobile phone app.
Downloadable for free for iPhone and Android devices from today (15 December 2010), the app can be used like a traditional Christmas cracker, presenting users with an on-screen cracker that can be ‘pulled’ to reveal recipes, traditional Christmas games, and a Christmas cracker joke.
Some of the 24 ‘crackers’ will even contain a link to a selection of money-off vouchers (redeemable in Co-operative Food stores) or a free entry into a prize draw to win one of a selection of prizes, including tickets for Take That’s 2011 tour, which have already sold out.
Other prizes include tickets to X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing Live Shows, Mamma Mia! and the world premiere of Ghost the musical. £500 worth of National Theatre Tokens and iTunes gift cards are also up for grabs.
The app also features games, which are inspired by family classics such as Charades, Pictionary and Taboo, and is perfect for Christmas parties, family events or simply a night in with friends. For the more competitive user, scores and comments can be shared using the app’s email, Facebook and Twitter facility.
Oliver Kumawu, development manager at The Co-operative, said: “The Co-operative Christmas Cracker app is not only useful, but also really fun.
“With games for the whole family to enjoy, and tasty Christmas recipes to inspire shoppers over the festive period, it really is a great twist on traditional Christmas crackers.
“With Christmas fast approaching, here is an app to keep everyone entertained throughout the festive period. full service, integrated global agency.”
