A LANDMARK Aberdeen hotel, bar and restaurant has announced two key appointments to the team.
Simpson’s Hotel on the city’s Queens Road is owned by local businessmen Jonathan Harper, Timothy Philpot and Michael Cochrane and run in conjunction with sister company Kepplestone Manor which offers nearby luxury serviced apartments.
An ongoing programme of recruitment has seen deputy general manager, Patrick Mercer, and operations manager, Gareth Winchester, recently join the team.
A Hospitality Management graduate of Edinburgh’s Napier University, Patrick Mercer moved to Aberdeen in 1994 and has worked at various establishments in around the city.
During his 12 years in the industry, Gareth Winchester has worked at various locations around the world including New York, Australia, New Zealand and India gaining valuable product knowledge and training development throughout his career.
His main area of expertise is in cocktails and spirit product knowledge.
Commenting on the appointments, Jonathan Harper said: “In order for us to ensure that Simpson’s Hotel remains one of the foremost hospitality venues in Aberdeen, it is crucial that we have the right people on the team.
“The addition of Patrick and Gareth will undoubtedly strengthen and augment the skills and expertise we already have.”
