REVOLVER PR, one of Scotland’s leading digitally-enabled PR agencies, has been appointed by My Taxi Rank to handle its press and communications strategy.
Since its launch in September 2010 My Taxi Rank has received positive recognition from both industry and consumers alike, and now requires a PR strategy to support its growth and business development.
Managing director, Frankie Anderson, selected Revolver PR based upon the agency’s innovative approach to cross-platform, full cycle PR, which integrates a complete range of print, online and broadcasting techniques to deliver campaigns.
“My decision to choose Revolver PR to deliver a PR strategy for My Taxi Rank was based upon how impressed I was by the team’s expertise and innovative approach to public relations and digital PR in particular, together with the manner in which they recognised and appreciated my business objectives and an enthusiasm for the services offered by My Taxi Rank.
“I look forward to collaborating with Revolver PR and using the agency’s unique reporting facility to measure the results of their services.”
The Glasgow-based firm, My Taxi Rank currently offers a free online taxi booking service available on multiple platforms including the web and smart mobile phones, together with the free downloadable, My Taxi Rank – Safe Taxi app.
Anderson, supported by father, Frank, and brother, Andrew, developed the My Taxi Rank business concept, together with the My Taxi Rank and the My Taxi Rank – Safe Taxi mobile phone apps, following a number of disturbing news stories regarding unlicensed taxi firms.
Using the digitally-innovative online booking service, customers are able to place a booking with a licensed firm registered with the company, using GPS technology if necessary, to acquire a pick up point.
The benefits of using the My Taxi Rank taxi booking service, either online or using the mobile phone app, are two-fold: My Taxi Rank not only removes the opportunity for mobile networks to charge for ring backs or message, but also aims to combat illegal taxi drivers by ensuring that only registered taxi firms and drivers are booked.
Taxi firms are encouraged to provide details of the vehicle, the driver and estimated pick up time with the email confirmation of the booking.
Having accrued over 2,000 downloads since its launch on 16 September 2010, the My Taxi Rank – Safe Taxi app provides a safety device for passengers by drawing upon the latest technologies.
Having made the taxi booking using the online service, passengers then enter the registration plate number of the vehicle using the Safe Taxi app and subsequently share the details of the journey, together with the vehicle’s information and booking to friends and family via email, tweet, facebook or text message.
Founded by former European Entrepreneur of the Year, Steve Leach, and award-winning journalist, Iain S Bruce, Revolver PR has a growing client list that includes technology transfer institute, iSLI, Coventry Airport and Sir Peter Rigby’s SCC.
Revolver PR’s managing director, Iain S. Bruce, added: “My Taxi Rank is a fantastic client for us, something to really get our teeth into as it marries digital innovation and technology with straight forward customer service. It is great for us to be involved at such an early stage as the service develops and evolves for the benefit of the customer.
“The communications strategy we have put forwad draws upon the experience and entire skill set of the team and will include strategically managed print, broadcast and social media communications, targeting both industry peers and the public across multiple media platforms. This project offers the team an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how our approach can help deliver B2C clients’ business objectives.”
