COMMERCIAL property consultants, FG Burnett, have pulled off a coup with the appointment of Stuart Orr as a director.
Mr Orr was head of Direct Investment for DTZ in Scotland and was behind a number of multi-million pound acquisitions and sales in recent years.
Says a spokesperson: “Last month, he secured the purchase of the Equinox building in the Cadogan Street, Glasgow, on behalf of a German fund for just under £30 million and he also played a leading role in the sale of the city’s 141 Bothwell Street for £66.5 million, recognised as the largest 2009 office deal in Scotland.”
FG Burnett managing director, Angus MacCuish, said he was delighted to recruit such a high-calibre property professional.
He said: “Stuart has a tremendous reputation in commercial property investment and his experience will complement our already strong investment team, which includes Ewen White in Glasgow and David MacLeod in Aberdeen.
“We are making a statement of intent with the appointment of Stuart to our board. It means we now have four of our ten directors based in Glasgow and that tells its own story about our ambitions in strengthening our position throughout Scotland.

Prior to working for four years at DTZ, Mr Orr was employed in senior investment roles with CBRE, Halladale and King Sturge.
