Open daily November 25 to December 22 2023, 10am to 6pm, Sunday to 5pm
COMING up soon, Castle Street Christmas Market, run by LocalMotive Markets, is once again making a festive splash with a wealth of artisan, bespoke ethical and Fair Trade products, handcrafted gifts and seasonal foodie and drink delights!
Set just below the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle, looking onto Princes Street, this annual Christmas market – now in its 16th year and with its distinctive festive gazebos – will be running on Castle Street for four weeks from the November 25 until the December, 22 and with new exhibitors joining every week.
This year, ice skating, funfair rides and a whole lot of festive activities are taking place across the city and LocalMotiveMarkets are also excited to also run another beautiful Christmas Makers’ Market at Ocean Terminal, from the end of this month on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (30/11 – 3/12, 7/12 – 10/12, 14/12 – 17/12, 21/12 – 24/12).
Tania Pramschufer, director of LocalMotive Markets, said: “Once again, we are seeing a real surge in top quality local and hand produced gifts, as well as foodies from a spectacular creative stallholder talent.
“Both of the Christmas Markets have attracted returning exhibitors and new stallholders, who will be bringing an exciting range of products to the outdoor market in the heart of the city and the indoor market in the evolving Leith destination.
“Exhibitors will be selling a wonderful variety of arts and crafts, pottery, wax melts and soaps, candles, fashion items, home décor… as well as confectionary, cakes and bakes, chutneys and jams, drinks, and much more!”
For example, some of the foodies at Castle Street will include an award-winning bakery – Bakery Andante - mouth-wateringly delicious vegan street food offering from Mountain Momo, and delightful artisan chocolates from Cacao Di Blu.
If looking for gifts, we cannot recommend highly enough the unique products that our exhibitors will be selling – for instance original one line drawing Art by Holly or hand-poured soaps by Couch House Soap Craft company, both trading at the Ocean Terminal Christmas Market.
We are inviting the festive visitors to browse and experience our markets, buy some unique and affordable gifts, and enjoy some yummy food and drinks!
Let the festivities begin!
