THE BPI is pleased to announce that the latest in its regular series of Insight Sessions – Reality Check: AR, VR and ‘synthetic realities’ will take place on Thursday, 3rd December from 4.00pm.
The virtual session will once again be in association with regular partners, Music Ally, and will also be presented with the support of one of BPI’s official partners, Bowers & Wilkins.
The upcoming Insight Session will look at trends in the extended reality space – from the ‘now’ of augmented reality (AR), through to recent developments in virtual reality (VR). It will examine whether we are now at its tipping point and the session will also consider the future gazing prospects of synthetic realities, and the implications of these new technologies for the music industry.
Attendees will hear from platforms and services working actively at the heart of this burgeoning business, as well as from music industry professionals and thought leaders on what this means for modern music marketing and connecting artists with fans, as well as commercial opportunities for the future.

This will be the tenth Insight Session held by record labels association the BPI, including a number staged jointly with Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA).
The sessions typically explore the relationship between music and technology and how developments are shaping trends in music consumption.
