KILMARNOCK-based Fergusons Bakery and Lamond the Baker produce a large and varied collection of bakery products, using only the best local produce to create the finest-quality products.
With a fleet of vans delivering, the length and breadth of Ayrshire, to convenience stores and supermarkets, the baker has a growing reputation for quality.
“It’s a tough time for us all right now,” says managing director, Simon Brown. “But for those who were already struggling, it’s even worse; so all of us at Fergusons wanted to do our bit to help those really in need.
“We have been actively supporting our local Ayrshire East Foodbank and have donated products to help those most in need in our community.
“The Ayrshire East Foodbank is currently working hard to deal with the unprecedented number of referrals they are receiving, so it feels good to be supporting them, with good-quality, freshly-baked bread, savouries and sweet treats.
“If anyone in the community is in need of emergency food, they have set up a call service which is open Monday to Friday, 10am until 2pm, on 01563 574000.”
Brown added: “And like many others, we have wanted to support the work of front line NHS staff by offering them fresh and tasty treats too, from our family of bakers.
“We have been sending products to University Hospital Crosshouse, Ayrshire Central Hospital and others as a way of giving something back.
“We know how hard it’s been and that getting back to some form of normality is still some way off but it’s good to know we are doing our bit during these tough times to support the community we love so much.”
