THE Glasgow newspaper, the Evening Times, has been rebranded as the ‘Glasgow Times’.
Begins a statement, from publishers, Newsquest Herald & Times Group: “Already, over the past few weeks, we have introduced a few changes – we have a new editor, a new design, and lots of brilliant new regular columnists, features, sport, investigations and campaigns – and there is MUCH more of that to come.”
Says Callum Baird, managing editor: “Today, we will become the ‘Glasgow Times’ – and we’re taking steps to make sure that our readers get more value for money with our newspaper than ever before.
“We’ll still have the best journalists in Glasgow working to bring you the biggest news stories that matter to you – and everything you love about the title will still be there.
“We just want to make sure that all of our loyal readers know that we are the ONLY newspaper which is solely focused on our incredible city.
“Whether it’s breaking news, crime, entertainment, the latest Old Firm updates, local heroes, heart-warming stories – if something is happening in Glasgow, then you will read about it first in our pages.
Nobody knows Glasgow better than the new ‘Glasgow Times’.”
The new-look paper is marking the occasion by launching a food bank campaign, Bank On Us, in partnership with Volunteer Glasgow, First Bus and Glasgow City Building.
Each copy of the paper will include a bag, with readers invited to fill it up with basic essentials and take it to their local food bank.
