THE final STV Growth Academy of the year takes place this morning at STV studios in Glasgow.
STV is committed to driving the Scottish economy, and the STV Growth Academy is part of a series of events established to reach out to the next generation of Scottish businesses to nurture their development.
Almost 40 attendees from SMEs will hear from a range of speakers who will share their knowledge on topics themed around the importance of using marketing to drive growth.
This morning’s event features a masterclass on commercial and negotiation skills with commercial director, Peter Reilly, and a session on the benefits of email marketing with STV’s Customer Experience manager, David Handling.
Alison Simpson, managing director of Red Bus Bistro, and STV Growth Fund member, will also host a session about how she has grown her business.
Alison said: “I was delighted to be invited to share my story at the Growth Academy and provide insights to other small businesses on how they can maximise their marketing to drive business growth.
“I would never have thought that a company of my size could afford to advertise on television – and the Growth Fund has put our company on the map in Scotland. I hope my insights might inspire attendees as they continue to develop and grow their businesses.”
Peter Reilly, STV’s Commercial director, said: “STV works with a wide range of companies to help build their brand and connect with their consumers.
“SMEs are at the forefront of Scottish economic growth and through our series of STV Growth Academy workshops, we aim to bring together the next generation of Scottish businesses with speakers to share invaluable insights and provide a forum to support their development.”
