SCOTTISH Swimming and Scottish Water – who are partners in Learn to Swim – have joined with the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Leisure Trusts and Aquatic providers to deliver exclusive water safety lessons, as part of Drowning Prevention Week, which runs from 14-24 June.
Lessons under the National Learn to Swim Framework, which involve some 75,000 children across Scotland, are being specially adapted to include key water safety guidance as part of RLSS’s Drowning Prevention Week, and on Friday 21st June, pupils from Methven Primary School in Perth, will take part in a water safety lesson, alongside Olympic medallist and local swimming hero, Stephen Milne.
